PRThe Football Association of Thailand (FAT) and the Japan Football Association (JFA) signed a co-operation agreement in Tokyo yesterday. JFA president Kohzo Tashima said he regarded FAT boss Somyot Poompunmuang as a friend and was impressed by his ambition. Somyot said since he became FAT president last year he had tried to follow in the footsteps of Japanese football. Japan made their first World Cup appearance in 1998 and have gone on to play in every finals since.
